What We Believe

Forward Church is an independent, non-denominational, Bible-based community church

We want to be an ever-growing yet intimate community of Christians as modeled to us in Acts 2:42-47, a people who are living out the great commandment and great commission of Jesus, which is in essence to… “Love God. Love people. Make disciples” Our goal is to equip the church to follow Jesus in every aspect of life through the process of discipleship.

GOD

We believe in one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

REVELATION

We believe God has made Himself known to the world through His Son Jesus, through the Scriptures, and through creation.

JESUS CHRIST

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man; died by crucifixion, was buried in Joseph’s tomb and physically rose from the dead.

BIBLE

We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are completely without error in the original writings and the final authority for life.

CREATION

We believe God created the universe from nothing and holds all things together.

HUMANITY

We believe that every human being has value, worth and dignity as a result of being created in the image of God from the moment of conception.

SIN

We believe that every person is affected by the broken nature of humanity and is therefore a sinner in need of salvation.

SUBSTITUTIONARY ATONEMENT

We believe salvation from sin comes by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ, which is a gift from God. We can never earn salvation through works, rather we receive it as a gift through having faith in Jesus Christ.

CHURCH

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, established by Jesus to declare the glory of God and make disciples of all nations.

ETERNITY

We believe in the personal and imminent return of Jesus, who will judge the living and dead. Those who have a faith in Jesus Christ will be raised to life with Him forever. Those without a faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity separated from Him.

BAPTISM

We believe in “believer’s baptism”. That is, baptism is a conscious decision made by one who has already trusted Christ as their personal Savior. (Acts 8:12) Baptism is not a condition of being saved, but it is an obedient response to the fact that one has already been saved. (Acts 2:38, 41).
